Dananananaykroyd are all set to release their brand new single ‘Muscle Memory’ on June 6, the first proper single from second album ‘There Is A Way’ (released on June 13) through their very own record label, Pizza College. When asked, drummer Paul Carlin described the recording process: “We got to dress up like neddy Power Rangers, play with a miniature poodle and get as close to vomiting as possible without actually vomiting: best day ever?”
The meaning behind the track is, as vocalist Calum Gun states: “is about remembering to be yourself when things around you are changing.” This follows on from the free download track ‘E Numbers’, which continues to receive radio support from Zane Lowe, Huw Stevens, Nick Grimshaw and more at Radio 1 as well as being added to the XFM playlist.
Recorded, produced and mixed by Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, Slipknot, Blood Brothers, Klaxons) at his house on Venice Beach, CA, the album sees the Scottish 6-piece fly back into the public’s conscious with both their heaviest effort to date, but also their most positive. Some April live dates, a May/June mini UK tour and a full summer festival season all to come in 2011, with a slot on the Radio 1/NME stage at Reading and Leeds already confirmed along with slots on many more to be announced soon.
