S] Talk us through the inspirations for the ‘Sidenote’ video, it’s…interesting?
There wasn’t a lot of time to make the video. So we needed something that would be easy and quick. We thought about doing a karaoke video, which reminded us of our friend Jules. He had been posting lip sync videos of himself on Facebook that were hilarious. We asked him to do a karaoke, and he came up with a whole choreography to the song. It fits the vibe of the song so well we left out the moving lyrics.
S] What type of stuff is motivating the band outside of music – think specific people, places and games for example?
The Red Devils doing well in the World Cup this summer would really push us to go further. Also, the people close to us are always encouraging us: our girlfriends, our sound guy, our manager…
S] What would you say that the biggest challenges you face as a band are?
Making sure our drummer Ramses doesn’t forget when we have to play shows.
S] What are your goals for the rest of the year?
First we are going to play a lot in Belgium and the Netherlands, but we are planning to come to the UK in the near future as well. Hopefully some nice festivals this summer. And we are also gonna continue writing our second album.
S] What would you like the Teen Creeps’ legacy to be?
Keeping the fire of indie rock burning in difficult times? Just kidding… That’s hard to say in fact, but if our band can be a gateway to a whole genre of great music or encourage people to start their own band. That would be pretty great.
