S] Talk us through the main inspirations on ‘Smile’?
I think it was just everything we grew up with whether it was music or where we grew up. Smile is the culmination of that.
S] How do you feel about the current state of alternative music?
I think it’s finally picking back up by moulding a few different scene together into one solid one.
S] Talk about ‘You’re So Wonderful’ for us, and the personal inspirations that went into that?
I basically put myself in situations that will emotionally manipulate me. I don’t know why, I don’t even know how, but I like it. It fucks with you and changes you so you’re never quite the same person this year as you were last year.
S] Talk us through your UK festival experiences at Download and Slam Dunk – any moments stand out particularly?
Man, those festivals are amazing. Download in particular was just absolutely insane. I think we were drunk for three weeks straight playing those festivals, just losing our minds left and right.
S] How do you stay sane on tour?
Everyone’s got their thing. I’ve got my phone to entertain me.
S] What keeps you passionate outside of music – think films, people and places for example?
I don’t know honestly. I don’t have much time for hobbies right now. I have a dog at home in obsessed with but that’s really it if I’m being honest.
