S] Talk us through the biggest challenges you face as an artist?
Just functioning on a basic level. Pushing through the self-hatred and doubt. Reminding myself why I do this in the first place, and why I continue to do it.
S] What would you say your mission statement is?
To be part of something bigger than myself. Music is the thing that gives my life meaning. To add to that conversation and that history in whatever small way.
S] Why the three Xs in the name?
Because Juicebox with one X was already taken the first time I tried to make a website. Straight up. No other reason.
S] What motivates you outside of music? Think specific people and places…
My friend Michael’s art show that is currently up at David Kordansky in Los Angeles. Michael Williams. Sadly missed the opening but just seeing the pictures on the internet got me excited. I like trying new brands of seltzer and sparkling water.
S] What are your goals for the rest of the year?
Got some tour dates coming up, so I’m gonna say just to rip up the stage every show. Work on new music. Wake up in the morning. Function on a basic level. Drink seltzer. Go to the sauna once or twice. Rip up the stage every show.
