Their cinematic amalgamation of discordant melodies, intricate guitars and a strong rhythm – all blended together with an array of obscure effects and samples – has earned them slots alongside Sunflower Bean, Menace Beach, Ulrika Spacek, Soviet Soviet and headline shows in Leeds and York supported by fellow noise-rock artists Drahla and Colour of Spring.
Of the release, Sean comments: “The lyrical inspiration for ‘Furniture‘ came from the decaying attic space we once rehearsed in, so we thought it fitting to base the video around the same building. It features point of view [VHS] footage myself and Ewan shot of eachother entering the various rooms – we tried to give the viewer that same sense of unsettling exploration we felt on our first venture into that strange, bleak place.”
Ewan adds: “For the video i worked with Mitchell Dilley who does all our live visuals. Alongside the practice room sections, the film includes architectural footage reminiscent of our single artwork. This is broken up by abstract compositions created physically by hand, which contrast the order and structure of the featured brutalist buildings, yet synchronise with the noise and the melody of ‘Furniture‘.”
