The Prodigy have consistently been one of the greatest live acts in the world for decades now, and even without Keith Flint (RIP) the enthusiasm from the band, for their warriors is at a fever pitch tonight at the historic, and stunning Bridlington Spa (more ROCK gigs please, guys).

From ferocious older cult cuts like ‘Poison’ and anthems like ‘The Day Is My Enemy’, via the classics like ‘Smack My Bitch Up’, Electro god Liam Howlett, Leo Crabtree (the hardest working drummer in music), livewire guitarist Rob Holliday and hypeman-vocalist extraordinaire, Maxim bring the heat (we are all very moist), fuel, fire and the errr, rhythmical remedy for any and all of our ills this cold winter evening. It’s a party to end the world…at the end of the year, and we are reminded just how lucky we are to have this band (with a brand new song ‘Fight’ in the mix tonight, and how fortunate we were to have Keith for so many years.

The Prodigy have become a movement, and the warriors come out to spread the infectious energy. It’s great to see the band as a cohesive unit, understanding the legacy of these sounds, and bringing it to a coastal seaside town that doesn’t always get in on the action. The group appreciates its own value to the Yorkshire masses tonight, and their overall cultural impact on alternative dance music, and how it impacts not only fans of big beats, but those who love hard guitars, clever live drumming and four seasoned musicians who can get the job done at metal festivals or global pop music gatherings.

The Prodigy will forever be a site to behold, and the Voodoo People have become a cultural movement to cherish.

The band is on tour now.
