It’s that time of year again! That time of year when York’s finest rock and roll troubadour types get together to entertain you in the name of charity and good times at York’s premier venue, Fibbers. This is, we think the 14th year we have done this, and this year’s chosen charity is the awesome Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and we hope to raise a bundle for them.

Entry, as ever, is only £5 with all proceeds going to them. What a line up we have for you this time round!!! Doors open at 7pm and not long after that the wonderful Soma Crew will be kicking things off in style, a shoegazey, krautrock influenced psychedelical monster of a groove based band if ever there was one. We also have the masters of hook and harmony laden indie-rock majesty that are the Blueprints, who have enjoyed a bit of BBC Radio 1 play this year, and about time too. Every one of their songs sounds like an instantly familiar sugar coated hit. Next up the most bad-ass duo on the planet, the incendiary …And The Hangnails who cover so much ground for a two piece it is untrue!
A relentless lo-fi blues punk rock animal with killer songs that won’t leave your head for weeks and will have you sucked into their world of noise from the get go. Headlining this extravaganza we have the much missed Federals back on their hometown stage for a long awaited return. Kings of fuzzed out garage rock mayhem, they are one of the best bands to ever come out of York and will be quickfiring though their back catalogue of ‘should have been’ hits for us in style!
There will also be some kind of set from York based Americana gods Boss Caine, probably involving a few guests and surprises, in fact the whole night may well run along those lines as these musicians are great friends and fans of each others music. Expect the unexpected but be sure you will have an amazing night and know that when you leave it was all in the name of rock and roll AND those in need at the end of the year!
As a special thank you to all who come to this event we have an aftershow party in the Bierkeller next door which you are all welcome too! There will be a late bar and DJs from the Revolutionary Freaked Out Fuzz Club and Sundown Sessions spinning the finest records available to keep you smiling and dancing into the wee hours. Tickets are on sale now from Fibbers website, Old Guys Rule on Stonegate, and The Inkwell on Gillygate, as well as on the door, assuming it doesn’t sell out in advance.
