In a recent announcement on the Nine Inch Nails Web site, band founder Trent Reznor stated that after a 2009 world tour with Jane’s Addiction that is currently in the planning stages, he plans to “make NIN disappear for a while.” Nine Inch Nails first toured with Jane’s Addiction in the early ’90s in a series of shows that eventually led to both Jane’s Addiction’s first break-up and the founding of the Lollapalooza festival tour.
The new tour celebrates the two bands’ long history of cooperation as well as the 20th anniversary of Nine Inch Nails’ first album, Pretty Hate Machine. Tour dates have not yet been announced, nor has Reznor given any indication of his plans after putting Nine Inch Nails on hiatus.
