8MM is heartland-tinged electro couple Juliette and Sean Beavan. Sean, a Grammy-nominated producer/mixer and multi-instrumentalist who has worked with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and No Doubt, states that “our music is about grit and glamour”. Their fifth studio album ‘Between The Devil and Two Black Hearts’ is out September 15, and dubbed the “Anti- Nicki Minaj” in the sense that they are in no way bending to a label’s will. Juliette states that, “we refuse to believe that, in order to make the music that continues to earn a place in your heart, we must dip ourselves in sugar and plastic of a colour that a corporate image consultant chooses”.
Because of this attitude, the band launched a Kickstarter campaign nearly three weeks ago to fund the manufacturing, marketing, and tour expenses associated with a traditional release, and the band have raised over $17k from fans and fellow musicians and actors including a certain Marilyn Manson.
