Ahead of the release of their highly anticipated debut ep “Sail” this Friday, Torus have released their infectious feel good hit of the summer “Did It Again”, an overdriven & fuzzed out driving rock anthem drenched in a hook laden chorus. The concept for the video was conceived by the band delving into influences of 90s MTV meets B-Movie Horror.
“We knew from the minute we wrote ‘Did It Again’ that we needed a music video involving us driving round in an old school car, ‘driving away from life’ with a return of our stalker from the ‘High Rope’ and ‘Sail’ videos”

When speaking about the EP, the band said:
“Everyone dealt with those two years in lockdown differently. Although we had many days struggling mentally, it was a massive turning point for us as a band and there is no way Torus would be what it is today without it.
We wrote a ridiculous amount of music throughout that time. Write and demo, write and demo. It became a Groundhog Day routine.”
When restrictions started to ease, we had to choose four tracks out of the albums worth of demo’s we had sitting on our computers. We felt it was the right thing to pick four that really showed who we are as a band. We like to think that these tracks show four different sides to us whilst still maintaining that Torus quality.”
Where else to record the EP but the same room where we had been writing and demoing tracks for the past two years. Although being offered the opportunity to work with other producers, it was right for us to produce it ourselves like we had been doing for so many years before. Harry then spent a few weeks hiding away in his little home studio trying to get the mix to be exactly what we heard in our heads.”
Torus have released ‘Sail’ ‘Clone’ and ‘Hurt You’, 3 gloriously fuzzy alt-rock anthems for the bewildered youth, to a rapturous response. Garnering them attention from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio (which saw all three singles added to the playlist), Planet Rock, Kerrang! Magazine, Classic Rock and incredible support across DSP’s including Spotify’s Fresh Finds: Rock, Shockwave, Apple Music’s The New Rock, Breaking Rock, Breaking Hard Rock, New In Rock + YouTube & Amazon playlists. The band also toured as support to Green Lung on their sold-out tour, whipping up the crowd into a mass of headbanging goodness.
Massive riffs. Colossal tunes. It’s a simple formula, loved by millions and endlessly plundered by countless great musicians across five decades of balls-out rock’n’roll fury. But even the greatest ideas need an upgrade every now and then. Armed with some of the biggest riffs currently available to human ears, and blessed with an unerring knack for penning monster melodies and monolithic, sing-along choruses, Torus are the next last word in overdriven riff worship.
