UK alternative music’s burgeoning superstars Static Dress have today shared “Di-sinTer” (Glitter Redux) from their forthcoming deluxe album Rouge Carpet Disaster (Redux) which is set to arrive worldwide on September 15th. Available now on all streaming platforms, “Di-sinTer” (Glitter Redux) is also joined by an official music video directed and edited by Static Dress vocalist Olli Appleyard.
One of the heaviest and most beloved tracks on the original Rouge Carpet Disaster, ‘Di-sinter”s redux places Static Dress firmly in a shoegaze-immersed dream. Trading metal-inspired sonics for the driving, uplifting sounds of the 90s, the band tear apart the song’s structure and use its source material to provide a brand new worldbuilding experience for listeners. Sound design plays a huge element within the track, with meticulous detail to each part of the production forming a wider tapestry that is simultaneously rousing and all-enveloping.
The track’s self-directed video also plays with the visual formula that Static Dress have made their signature. Hinting at the unmasking of the unknown entity that plays guitar for them, the video is directly inspired by the work of famed video director Sophie Muller (Gwen Stefani/Sade/Rihanna), and takes cues from auteurs such as Julia Ducournau and David Cronenberg in its use of body horror, fusing that chaos with warm, often hazy colour palettes that further unsettle the minds of those watching.
Available for pre-order now, Rouge Carpet Disaster (Redux) sees the band expanding on their celebrated debut album with new artwork and four new Redux versions of singles including: “Courtney, just relax” [ft. World Of Pleasure], “Attempt 8” [ft. Sophie Meiers], “Di-sinTer (Glitter Redux),” and “such.a.shame” (Smoking Lounge Redux) [album art / track listing below]. Rouge Carpet Disaster (Redux) will be available in multiple vinyl variants, with each LP accompanied by an additional 7” vinyl featuring the four Redux tracks.
Earlier this summer Static Dress announced their signing to Roadrunner Records and revealed details of Rouge Carpet Disaster (Redux). Originally released independently, Rouge Carpet Disaster proved to be a watershed moment for Static Dress. Produced by Erik Bickerstaffe of Loathe and written by Static Dress, the album spotlights an imagination capturing sound that transcends emo, screamo, metal, pop, electronic and so much more; making for one of the most ambitious statements made from within the rock format in decades.
Static Dress made an immediate impact upon the alternative music scene with the release of their 2021 EP, Prologue… (Comic Book Soundtrack). Voted by Kerrang! readers as the Best New Band Of The Year in 2021, Prologue… set the stage for Static Dress’ most widescreen vision; a comic book and official soundtrack building the foundations for a parallel universe with innovative puzzles and lore that has captivated fans.
Winner of the Heavy Music Awards 2023 “Best Breakthrough Live Artist” and having supported acts such as Bring Me The Horizon, Knocked Loose and more, Static Dress will embark on the Rouge Carpet Disaster UK tour – their first headline tour since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album of the same name. Taking place in celebration of the forthcoming release of the album’s Redux version in September on Roadrunner Records, the tour will span eight dates in November, coming off the back of supporting Bring Me The Horizon in arenas across Europe, as well as one of the most talked about sets at both the North and South editions of Slam Dunk Festival. The band will also join Neck Deep across their European run this summer, nothing, nowhere. across the US & CA, as well as a huge arena tour across the UK and Ireland with Bring Me The Horizon in January.
