Rock band SPAN return with long-awaited reunion through 2024, including their first and final UK show in over 20 years at the O2 Academy Islington, London.

SPAN was widely known for their energetic live performances and catchy rock anthems. They were one of the most popular rock bands in Norway from the early 2000s and dominated live venues and festivals both at home and abroad. SPAN recently made a comeback with two concerts at Rockefeller in Oslo, both of which sold out instantly. On Monday, the 23rd of September, they will play their first and final show in the UK in 20 years at the O2 Islington Academy, in London.

The early 2000s was a golden age in Norwegian rock. SPAN had spent 10 years on the road both in Norway and the UK, when they released their debut album Mass Distraction in 2004.

“It’s really cool to hear about the SPAN reunion. We supported them on what was technically our first ever tour
for a few shows, promoted by Drowned in Sound (if i remember correctly). Crazy to think it’s been 20 years!
Wishing them all the best for these upcoming shows.” – Russel Lissack, Bloc Party

“The 2000s were a strange time in music Norway. There were clear distinctions between what was “cred” and
what was “deaf”. In my circle, SPAN for some reason ended up in the last one. I nodded in solidarity to my
creditable rock friends, but the truth is that I loved Span in secret. They were better at their instruments than all
the other rock bands at the time, incredibly nice types to meet on the road, and I still know the riff to ‘Found’ that
I learned in 2003. In secret, of course.” – Tarjei Strøm, Ralph Myerz, Datarock

SPAN was hailed as a Norwegian success story with an international appeal. This was confirmed by record deals with Island Records in the UK and Interscope in the US.

After 15 years of sweaty backstages, they are now doing a reunion through 2024. Their very final run. In October, the band will end their career in Trondheim, Norway.
