Saint Agnes have released a video for their latest single ‘Follow You’ taken off their new album Bloodsuckers. ‘Follow You’ is produced and mixed by Nine Inch Nails collaborator Sean Beavan.
Bloodsuckers is a frantic combination of rock, metal and hardcore. Bouncing seamlessly through genres, Saint Agnes bring in a range of styles and sounds to what is an anger-fuelled 40 minutes of music.
Bloodsuckers explores various themes such as mental health, rage, love and grief. The album was created after the unexpected death of front woman Kitty Austin’s mother. The album gave Kitty the opportunity to express her grief and emotion through music, and makes the album a call to everyone else who might be struggling.
Speaking on creating the album Kitty said “creating this album gave me a reason to get to my feet at a time when I really wasn’t sure if I could. I’ve tried to put everything I’ve been feeling into it, all the pain, the rage, the grief, even the unexpected moments of beauty and belief. I hope it makes you feel less alone. I hope it makes you feel bigger, badder and stronger. We might be damaged but that doesn’t mean we’re worthless. This is a record for the defeated, the crushed. We might be broken but that doesn’t mean we’re not whole. Bloodsuckers forever, Saint Agnes forever.
Saint Agnes will head out on a UK tour later this year in support of Bloodsuckers. The six date run follows their sold out show at The Black Heart in Camden and an appearance at 2000trees.
