The return of Razorlight with their classic line-up has received a wave of interest which is befitting their status as one of biggest bands of their era. Their new single ‘Scared Of Nothing’ received its first spotlight moment when Johnny Borrell and Andy Burrows joined Chris Moyles for an interview on Radio X, while key streaming playlists included Spotify’s New Music Friday and All New Rock. Their resurgence was further heralded by a spread of press coverage, including an entertaining in-depth interview with NME.
Today sees Razorlight continue that positive momentum ahead of the October 25th release pof their new album ‘Planet Nowhere’ with a double-bill of activity. They share the new ‘making of’ documentary for ‘Scared Of Nothing’ while limited remaining tickets for their intimate underplay tour in October are now on general sale HERE.
The documentary takes us into the creative predicament that resulted in ‘Scared Of Nothing’, the song that unlocked the inspiration behind the rest of ‘Planet Nowhere’. It depicts a band in a state of purgatory . At the outset, they clearly have the ability and the desire to write an attention-grabbing new album, a top tier producer in the shape of Youth, and a studio in the south of Spain with both the equipment and the vibe – but it just wasn’t coming together… until the day that Johnny wrote ‘Scared Of Nothing’. As its opening lyrics affirm, “You’ve got to make the puzzle fit.”
Johnny says, “A lot of stuff happens in Razorlight that is never filmed, so many stories get lost, but for once we actually managed to capture a big moment. Here’s the making of this song, shot by Charlie Henri-Belleville and edited by someone way too qualified for this project.”
In addition, tickets for Razorlight’s intimate October headline tour – their smallest shows in years – are now on general sale. After strong demand during the tour’s pre-sale, expect all shows to rapidly sell-out. The tour will see Razorlight introduce songs from the new album alongside a selection of hits and fan favourites.
