Recorded in summer 2024 at Bristol’s Humm Studios, ‘Almost Feels Like Purpose’ bristles with pent-up frustration, setting Sherrin’s sardonic reflections to a breakneck punk in their newest EP preview, which arrives off the back of riotous lead tracks ‘CHUNKS’ and ‘SNAILS’. Taking lyrical inspiration from musical heroes Dave Berman and Nick Cave, MOULD’s musical ability sees them move fluidly between various punk strains, with an almost panicked sense of urgency showcased in their very own unique style.

Achieving sustained support throughout the press community (NME, DIY, Dork, So Young, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Rolling Stone UK, Rough Trade, Brooklyn Vegan), as well as repeated spins across the BBC 6 Music (Huw Stephens, Amy Lamé) and Radio X (John Kennedy) airwaves, MOULD are fresh from an acclaimed showcase at NYC’s New Colossus Festival earlier this month, preceding a slot at The Great Escape Festival in May.

Detailing the origins of ‘FRANCES’, Joe Sherrin explained: “’FRANCES’ is a song about being haunted by the ironic ghost of a killer bird called Frances. It’s quite difficult for me to talk about”.

MOULD’s ‘FRANCES’ is out now via 5dB Records and available on all digital platforms.

MOULD is Joe Sherrin (vocals, guitar), Kane Eagle (vocals, bass), James Luxton (drums)
