The 8th of May should be a day marked in all metal heads calendars with it being Motörhead Day. To celebrate this Motörhead have released a brand new video for their 1998 cover of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’.
Along with the video Motörhead’s cover has been released on streaming platforms for the first time ever and is available to pre-order on a 7” vinyl.
The animated video takes you on a journey through a child’s nightmare who is haunted by ‘The Sandman’ but is ultimately saved by Motörhead’s ‘Warpig’.
‘Enter Sandman’ is the second Metallica cover released by Motörhead with them previously wining a Grammy in 2004 for their Cover of ‘Whiplash’. Metallica are no stranger to a Motörhead cover as well having famously covered ‘Overkill’, Damage Case’, ‘Stone Dead Forever’ and ‘Too Late Too Late’ for Garage, Inc in 1998.
The Enter Sandman EP released today on streaming platforms features the ‘Enter Sandman’ cover along with two of Motörhead’s iconic covers ‘R.A.M.O.N.E.S’ and ‘God Save The Queen’. The EP also has two live tracks one being Thin Lizzy’s ‘Rosalie’ from 2007 and the other being a Hawkwind cover ‘Silver Machine’.
