Today, Monks have released new single ‘Aquarius‘. The track is the second to be taken from the band’s upcoming EP ‘Worldview’, set for release this summer.

Drawing on the dance music culture of their native Liverpool, Aquarius’ has its gaze fixed on the dancefloor. The track embodies ‘Monk’s‘ shift in focus to blissed out synths and pulsing beats to show Monks heading in a new, fresh direction.

Frontman George Pomford’s distinctive vocal ‘Aquarius’ continues to push Monks forward, building on the success of their latest single Welcome Home’.

Monks talking about the track –

“’Aquarius’ is a song about learning more about yourself each and every day. The song tackles themes of time, self-esteem and being the underdog. The band uses the Aquarius star sign in the title to reflect the bands personal thoughts and feelings. It was the first song that Monks wrote in the electronic sound and acts as a blueprint for the worldview EP.

Monks will be performing at Dot To Dot in Bristol and Nottingham later this month. They recently played a sold-out show in Liverpool at the Invisible Wind Factory where tracks from ‘Worldview’ were first showcased.
