Due for release on April 30th, Maxwell Varey’s new single ‘This Town’ is bold and confident.
In ‘This Town’ Maxwell discusses his own mental health alongside propulsive music.
Maxwell commented on the track stating “This Town’ is a song about my experience with dissociation and about how I often find myself struggling to be present throughout my life. The song comes from a cathartic place as I feel that while writing it, I was longing for a calm and clear headspace (for the noise to stop) while feeling utterly lost. I think “this town” acts as a metaphorical place in which this silence is achieved and where I’ll finally feel at peace, a place that I’m always searching for.”
In the past Maxwell has worked with John Foyle (FKA twigs, Sampha, Blur) on his debut EP ‘Ivory’ which received much positive attention from the media.
Maxwell has a busy year coming up with plenty of live shows including appearances at Liverpool Sound City and Dot To Dot festival.
