American modern indie-rock band Mad Honey share details of debut album Satellite Aphrodite for a 22nd September release.
Their debut full-length album signals an exciting first chapter for Mad Honey, who are destined to play a crucial role in the future of indie-rock.
This announcement comes after a string of single releases, including ‘Fold,’ a hazy and hook-laden track plucked straight from Satellite Aphrodite.
“’Fold’ is about feeling like you don’t have control of your own mind and trying to surround yourself with the right people to keep you grounded. When I was writing it, I was feeling a lot of anxious energy about what decisions I should be making for my life, and questioning why I cared what people thought about it. I wrote the demo back in late 2021. When we finally started working on the song as a full band it became more anthemic and fun. It was one of the first songs we recorded together, so sonically it set the tone for the album.” – Tiff (vocals/guitarist in Mad Honey)
Satellite Aphrodite features 11 unforgettable tracks that showcase a depth of sophistication in Mad Honey’s multi-layered approach to the creative process. Shimmering and swaying with a punk and pop undertone, the debut album captures the moment Mad Honey discover their own youthful creative magic, which they cleverly transform into Satellite Aphrodite.
Mad honey will be hosting a record release show on 22nd September in Oklahoma City at the Resonant Head in celebration. Support comes from fellow Oklahoma City-based band Photocopy.
