Following the avant-garde ‘(in) snakes and ladders (stakes don’t matter),’ (which received support from Kerrang! Radio as Alex Baker’s featured artist of the week) Belgian 5 piece post-punk/prog outfit THE GURU GURU share their new single ‘HONESTLY (I DON’T FEEL LIKE DANCING)’ taken from their limited edition double vinyl EP ‘IT’S A (DOGGY DOG) WORLD’ and ‘LIVE IN ANTWERP’. The EP is set for release on 25th JUNE 2021 via RUMBLE HEAP RECORDS, with ‘LIVE IN ANTWERP’ only being made available with the limited edition vinyl.

The Guru Guru’s latest offering sees the band looking inwards, acknowledging their mental health as well as taking stock of the past year.
“I am an introvert. I sometimes like dancing. Sometimes I don’t. This past year hasn’t been easy.” reflects frontman Tom Adriaenssens. “It shouldn’t be that hard for me to admit that I don’t feel like dancing all the time. It should be ok for people to say stuff like this. When I was writing the lyrics for the chorus I felt it had to start with ‘honestly’ because I thought it sounded good… The problem was that it had to be followed by a painful confession… ‘I don’t feel like dancing’ was true at the time and I was sort of embarrassed about it.”
