Advertised as ‘Hull and East Yorkshire’s premiere metal and rock festival’, Metieval has been showcasing the best local talent, as well as the big hitters since 2007. The following line up has been announced for the 2011, two stage festival of metal madness held on April 16 in Hull.
East Yorkshire’s Sworn Amongst shall be headlining the Bad Dog Stage at Metieval this year. This rare local perfomance from the Patrington based quartet shall be a special one off show before they fly out to Denmark to begin the Scandinavian leg of their European Tour. Co-Headlining shall be West Yorkshire’s Metal Titans Asomvel, who have spent the last decade playing in front of UK and European audiences. They will be making their Metieval debut, thus completing the 20 band line up that also consists of Folk Metallers Skyclad, who along with black metal band Hecate Enthroned, shall be headlining the Metieval stage.
Other bands on the Metieval Stage include a rare live performance from the critically acclaimed Windrider, XIII, black metal from Old Corpse Road, folked-up-melodic-death metal from Ravenage, brutal misanthropic metal from Infernal Creation, progressive folk metal from Northern Oak and female fronted metal from Cryptic Age.
As well as the Metieval Stage, there will also be The Bad Dog Sponsored Stage, headlined by the aforementioned Sworn Amongst and Asomvel, as well as some of the finest local talent that appeared at the Pre Metieval Fund-raisers. Pastel Jack and Violent Deception shall be returning with Alice In Thunderland and Heat Ray, alongside the more bluesy guitar driven Soulflame, who were the choice band of the Satan Slaves MC. Making their Metieval debut from the south bank shall be The Occupier and three of Hull’s most brutal bands in the form of teenagers Immolator, Blood Red Dawn and a rare home town performance from Scatorgy.
Tickets for this event are £12.50, the same price since the first ever Metieval in 2007.
Tickets are now available from Bad Dog Music in Hull City Centre and The Guitar Shop in Beverley as well as online here.
