Hull quintet Low Hummer have shared a new video for their third single ’The Real Thing’. Released on Dance To The Radio Records, the band have been quickly making a name for themselves since their emergence in September last year with their unmistakable, bold, electronic and hooky post-punk.
Having already found themselves featured on the BBC 6 Music Roundtable and playlisted as the recommends track of the week, the band will release their debut self titled EP on Dance To The Radio later in 2020 with more singles to come over the next few months.
Low Hummer had been scheduled to tour heavily throughout spring and summer including stops at many of the UK’s most important new music festivals but are taking the wave of cancellations in their stride and planning to work together, remotely, on new demos and ideas while supporting their local DIY community as best they can.
Guitarist and singer Daniel Mawer: “Obviously a lot of our shows over the next few months are cancelled, we had so many exciting gigs lined up so we’re obviously gutted but we spent most of last year in isolation making music so we’re ready to do that all over again. The main thing is the health of everyone concerned with the festivals, so many of them involve D.I.Y independent promoters and event organisers and we wish them all the best as they navigate through such tricky postponements. We hope that by Autumn we’ll be out playing again, we’re already itching to get going, and it’ll feel like a really poignant moment when we get back on stage again”
