Throwback rockers Greta Van Fleet have released an idyllic new video for their latest single ‘Meeting The Master’. The video comes as the band are preparing to release their third album Starcatcher on 21st July.
The Grammy-winning rock band takes you on a visual journey to accompany the folk-rock sound of the single. Directed by Gus Black the video showcases conflicts between light and dark to which singer Josh Kiszka adds “Beauty cloaked in darkness is still beauty. I love you Gus Black.”
Starting with picturesque landscapes to match the opening acoustics, the video flips on its head midway through when lead guitarist Jake Kiszka launches into a huge electric solo. Kiszka’s solo takes the song to another level with a style reminiscent of some of the iconic 60’s/70’s rock bands.
Members of the band have spoken about the themes of Starcatcher with drummer Danny Wagner saying “we had this idea that we wanted to tell these stories to build a universe.” Bassist Sam Kiszka adds “When I imagine the world of Starcatcher, I think of the cosmos.”
The new album arrives three days before Greta Van Fleet set out on their world tour with dates across North America and Europe announced. The tour takes the band up to 2024 where they currently have two Mexico dates supporting Metallica.
