Funeral For A Friend Announce Outdoor Summer Series for July 2025

Welsh rock legends Funeral For A Friend have announced a series of exciting outdoor Summer shows in Leeds and Wales featuring an all-Welsh lineup in July 2025.

In their only UK headline appearances of 2025, the band joins Sounds of The City at Leeds Millennium Square on Friday 18th July 2025 with The BlackoutCasey, and special guests Kill The Lights. On Saturday 19th July, the band will make their return to Wales for a special performance at Rock the Castle in Cardiff Castle, accompanied by SkindredThe BlackoutCaseyDream State, and Kill The Lights.

These brand-new live shows follow their major 2023 tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation. Lauded by fans and critics alike, the album cemented them as one of the most important rock bands of their generation and included their massive breakthrough singles “Juneau” and “She Drove Me to Daytime Television.”

Funeral For A Friend are also following on from their successful second stage headline slot at Download Festival this past June, where they delivered a standout performance. To commemorate the event, the band has released a live video of them performing their 2005 classic Roses For The Dead from the Download Festival set, giving fans a taste of the energy and emotion that defined their show. Once again, they are joined on vocals by Holding Absence frontman Lucas Woodland, who has been praised for his seamless integration into the band.

Forming in 2002, Funeral For A Friend are known for their intense live performances and emotionally charged music. The band has released numerous critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively both domestically and internationally. These upcoming outdoor shows promise to be a journey through their beloved and sizeable discography.

Joining Funeral For A Friend on this thrilling all-Welsh lineup is the recently reunited post-hardcore stars The Blackout, renowned for their iconic albums We Are The Dynamite! (2007) and The Best in Town (2009). Also performing are Welsh rock powerhouse Casey and heavy metal supergroup Kill The Lights.

In addition to these special guests, Cardiff Castle will also host Welsh genre-fusing reggae-metal band Skindred and the energetic four-piece Dream State.
