20-year-old Vancouver-based artist EKKSTACY has today shared new single ‘I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING’. Having just collaborated with HEALTH and also set to join Purity Ring on tour this summer, this follows EKKSTACY’s debut project ‘NEGATIVE’, which featured viral track ‘i walk this earth all by myself’ (and has surpassed 25 million streams on Spotify alone).
EKKSTACY’s first new musical offering of 2022 ignites an exciting new chapter for the young artist, expanding the sound he first unveiled with ‘NEGATIVE’; where he drew upbeat influence from his contemporary indie pop heroes and flecks of mid-80’s British indie rock, while also imbuing the darker, introspective songwriting of early 2000’s alternative and emo-rock. ‘I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING’ is a thrashing rush of feelings of aimlessness from the track’s opening riff, which arrives with an accompanying visual directed by Jason Peterson following EKKSTACY as a fading angel meandering through a bleak urban purgatory in search of a true partner.
‘I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING’ comes off the back EKKSTACY’s European tour, where he played the likes of The Great Escape Festival, plus the recent announcement that EKKSTACY is part of Pigeons & Planes and Big Ass Kids’ See You Next Year compilation album campaign: executive-produced by Mike Dean (Kanye, The Weeknd), and also featuring the likes of Wallice, Fana Hues, and more.
