Capcom unveils a VR experience and details on some of their most popular IPs during the PlayStation Showcase.
Capcom had a busy day at the PlayStation Showcase, unveiling footage from the highly anticipated action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2, a melee mash-up for the upcoming Street Fighter 6 and an sneak peek at the VR functionality for Resident Evil 4, a functionality exclusive to the PlayStation VR 2.
Dragon’s Dogma, the action-RPG that attracted a cult fanbase released in 2012 and has since sold 7.2 million units and inspired a Netflix animated series. This new trailer gives fans a look at the hotly awaited sequel which was announced at the beginning of the Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary celebration. The trailer shows off the game’s immersive physics, character AI and detailed fantasy setting using Capcom’s RE Engine. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam.
Resident Evil 4 VR Mode is a free DLC coming to PlayStation VR 2 for PS5 as an extended capability for the recently released Resident Evil 4 remake, a makeover of a fan-favourite entry in the iconic franchise. The DLC looks to further immerse fans in the world of Resident Evil through the use of VR.
Getting ready for its imminent global release, Street Fighter 6 has shown off brand new scenes from World Tour, a new single player story set in the Street Fighter world. Players will travel through open-world areas as they customise their personal avatar with a fighting style and special attack mix-and-match. The game will have three brand new game modes – World Tour, Fighting Ground and Battle Hub.
