From the early days of experimentation to the global recognition and acclaim received for albums like “Devil Is Fine ” and “Stranger Fruit,” the documentary provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and the passion that fuels Zeal & Ardor’s artistic vision. With his band Zeal & Ardor Swiss-American musician Manuel Gagneux was catapulted overnight from the underground to the big stages of the world. The bold mix of Black Metal and old work songs and field hollers by African-American slaves – his answer to a racist provocation on the Internet – is politically explosive.
Concerning religion, racism, segregation and appropriation; artist Manuel Gagneux questions and breaks all kinds of taboos with his music.
