Sonisphere festival 2012 has been cancelled, according to this year’s headliners Queen.
The July event, which had confirmed headliners including Kiss, Faith No More and Queen is said to have struggled to sell tickets for the 2012 event. In a post on their official site (which has now been removed), Queen state: “It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012”. Tickets have now been withdrawn from the site. Another sad loss for the UK festival scene, as Sonisphere becomes the latest festival to cancel this year.
