Right, here we bloody go. We stopped doing these things because we thought nobody gave a sh**, but whatever, here are our albums of the year, by bands we love to celebrate, in our own small way, their achievements.

Dom’s picks…

I’m not gonna do a fancy long quote for each of these, though I am sure that would help, but if you’re here and you fancy checking out some recent, amazing records, see below for a quick take, and the tunes…

Turnstile – ‘Glow On’

“Amazing.”

The Dirty Nil – ‘Fuck Art’

“Great fun, a romp from start to finish.”

Bummer – ‘Dead Horse’

“Fucking ferocious, mate.”

Black Foxxes – Black Foxxes

“Emotive, and pure. If you get nothing from this record, I imagine you are dead inside.”

Manchester Orchestra – The Million Masks of God

“Magical, diverse and pure. Manchester Orchestra get better each outing.”

IDLES – CRAWLER

“The UK’s favourite band have done it again, with a much more introspective and raw album. Excellent work.”

Sneaker Pimps – Squaring The Circle

“Trip-hop’s best and brightest return with new faces, but the same pomp and confidence that made them popular during the 90s.”

Knomad Spock – Winter of Discontent

“Open and honest introspection from one of the UK’s standout spoken word artists.”

Webbed Wing – ‘What’s So Fucking Funny?’

“Grunge. Beautiful grunge in 2021. Lovely.”

STILL – ‘{}’

Post-hardcore and black metal melded in the most innovative way we’ve seen in…like, ever.”

Wych Elm – ‘Rabbit Wench’

“Interesting, dark and diverse lo-fi indie rock.”

Low Hummer – ‘Modern Tricks for Living’

“A sarcastic take on modern culture from this Manic Street Preachers-approved six-piece. Global Ones To Watch in 2021, for sure.”

The Battery Farm – ‘Dirty Den’s March of Suffering’

“Gritty Northern punk with enough power and pride behind it to knock you on your back. A band that does it for love, and you can really hear it.”

Tigercub – ‘As Blue As Indigo’

A magical alternative rock romp, backed with emotion from start to finish.
