Spanish developer ChaoticBrain Studios have revealed their first trailer for their upcoming title Neon Blood. Styled as a dark JRPG/Graphic Adventure game, the trailer – titled ‘Welcome to Viridis’ – unveils gameplay, and the world Neon Blood will be set in.
The trailer reveals the striking neo-noir, cyberpunk-like Viridis, showcasing 3D environments and “2.5D” character models creating an aesthetic differentiation between flat characters and the environment itself.
Set in 2053, after a Third World War, humanity has been reduced to one huge city – Viridis. Created itself from the luxurious Bright City and the dystopian Blind City. Bright City – as you might expect – bright, clean and futuristic. The other, Blind City, dark, gritty and seemingly stocked with mutants and crime.
You play as detective Axel McCoin, out to rebel against the injustices rife in both cities, caused by the class differences and corruption, highlighting the different realities of the two cities as Axel becomes a symbol of a revolution.
Neon Blood is set for release digital release in 2024 on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It is now available on Steam and PlayStation Wishlists now.
