The debut EP brings a Weezeriness’ (solid Weezer vibes) and honesty that could soundtrack the highest highs & the lowest of lows and showcases BLACK SURF’s signature sound and style.
‘Make Friends With Hell’ was produced by Lee Smith and features 4 original songs written and performed by BLACK SURF. The EP was recorded at Greenmount Studios in Leeds, UK (Yard Act, Pulled Apart By Horses, The Cribs).
Of the the lead single ’Lights Out’, Ali Epstone says: “It’s an unrequited love song. By far the most organic song I ever wrote, lyrically. That melody felt like a cosmic gift – like it was given to me. So much so, I thought it was someone else’s song. It was very little work on my part. Lyrically, it was inspired by Erykah Badu’s ‘Next Lifetime’.”
LEAD SINGLE ‘LIGHTS OUT’ is available NOW on all streaming platforms.
