Asking Alexandria have shared ‘Dark Void’, the first single off their currently untitled eighth studio album. The band have given fans a taste of things to come, with the new album due out later this year.
‘Dark Void’ has a blend of styles combining their classic metalcore sound with a more mature rock influence. Lyrically the song explores mental health struggles to which guitarist Ben Bruce adds “this theme is explored throughout the entirety of our upcoming album”.
Speaking on ‘Dark Void’ Bruce commented “this song is about fighting those demons that live in your head and trying your hardest to be your own savior. Finding that inner strength to pull yourself out of the darkness”.
Asking Alexandria also released a video to accompany the new single. The video carries the darker theme from the song using effects to morph the band back and forth from themselves to various monsters signifying the inner demons.
