Part man, part machine, all cop… the iconic 1980s action hero RoboCop returns to our screens today in the action-packed adventure video game RoboCop: Rogue City for PlayStation, Xbox and PC gaming platforms from publisher NACON and developer Teyon.
To celebrate the launch, RoboCop surprised tourists and commuters as he attempted to import his unique brand of law enforcement from the future streets of Detroit: “serve the public trust, protect the innocent, and uphold the law” became “give directions to tourists, protect the King’s Guard, and call in backup from a red telephone box”.
RoboCop also features in a live-action trailer, a tribute made by fans, for fans – old and new – in celebration of the cybernetic cop.
Peter Weller, the original actor of the RoboCop film reprises his role as the voice and face of RoboCop in the video game, as the story of RoboCop: Rogue City takes place between RoboCop 2 and 3 films.
