In our next Band Spotlight, we have a quick chat to Conor O’Donohoe of the fantastic alternative pop act, WILD YOUTH!
Hi guys, how are you today?
Hey! We are great thanks, excited to be releasing new music and have been writing loads of new, so feeling o.k considering.
How do you define success as artists?
Being proud of what you put out, and being able to tour and play shows where people want to hear your music.
How do you feel about the success of ‘Next To You’ now?
It’s been amazing that it got such a great reaction. It’s a song we are super proud of, but we were aware it was quite different, so it was nerve-wracking releasing it. But it’s always amazing when you take a risk and it pays off.
What would you say your biggest challenges are right now, outside of Covid?
I think releasing music without being able to play shows alongside is hard, and not being able to do usual promo but everyone’s facing the same challenges.
How does Champagne Butterflies represent the direction you guys are heading in?
Champagne Butterflies is probably the closest song to our first ep, but a progression for sure. There is lots of variation in our new music, we’re looking forward to people hearing more.
Have an awesome day!!
You too!
