The track comes in the midst of the band’s EU/UK tour.
Des Moines nu-metal band VENDED have just dropped another new single, ‘Nihilism.’ The track follows the release of previous tracks ‘The Far Side’ and ‘Am I The Only One’, the latter currently boasting over half a million YouTube views.
The new cut, the band tells us, “continues the energy from the last single, pushing it to the limit even more”, with a defiant yet uplifting message at its core. “The whole meaning of the track is to not fear what doesn’t really matter”, they declare. “Do what YOU want, and not what you think will hold you back.” You can check out the video for the new single below.
With these three tracks being released in relatively quick succession, and their last full-length release being the ‘What Is It / Kill It’ EP in 2021, it would be reasonable to assume a new EP, or even album, is imminent. The band seem to tease towards the possibility themselves saying, “This song represents the momentum for what’s to come.”
The 5-piece have also recently been announced as the opening guests on one of the year’s biggest US tours: SLIPKNOT’s ‘Here Comes The Pain’ 25th Anniversary tour, culminating with the massive KNOTFEST Iowa event at Waterworks Park, in the band’s home town of Des Moines, on 21st September.
The bands themselves are already closely acquainted, in fact sharing a familial link. Vended’s singer Griffin and drummer Simon are the sons of Slipknot members Corey Taylor and Shaun Crahan respectively. While their placement on the tour arguably won’t quell the nepotism accusations, it’s sure to be an incredibly memorable night for all involved.
Also promising to be an unmissable experience is Vended’s current UK/EU tour, with support from Profiler and The Gloom In The Corner. Having started in late April, the band initially said that “The intensity we’ve felt in the past from Europe and the UK is something we don’t find anywhere else, and we want to return the favour tenfold this year.” They’re currently making their way around continental Europe, and a handful of UK shows are slated to start later this month.
‘Nihilism’ is available to stream/buy now. You can also get tickets for the remaining dates of Vended’s UK EU Tour here.
