S] What themes and ideas inspire your music?
Chris] Some themes that inspire our music are life, love, loss, redemption.
Jordan] It has to feel good to play which in turn provides the motivation to refine the music in a way that supports each instrument.
S] What’s been a career highlight?
C] Our 2016 New England Music Awards nomination for ‘Best In State’ for Maine. We did not take home the award but it was an honor just being nominated/recognized for all the hard work.
J] Performing at the L.L. Bean Summer Concert Series in Freeport Maine in 2013.
S] What motivates you outside of music – people and places, for example?
C] I love going to concerts, that is something that hugely motivates me and gives me the drive to write, record and perform original music. I think also for most of us just everyday life motivates and inspires us to create music.
S] Which of your most recent songs best represents the music you make, and why?
C] ‘Scratching the Surface’, ‘What I Recall’ & ‘One Time Around’, I grew up during the 80’s & 90’s and really grew to love the acoustic guitar within rock music. I love how you can have a rocking tune but at the core of it is the acoustic guitar or when a song breaks down after a chorus and you can hear the acoustic shining through.
J] ‘From Where I Stand’ & ‘One Time Around’, I think these songs represent a great approach to the music with lyrics that really tell a story on a deeper human level.
S] What are your big plans for the rest of 2017?
C] We are currently working on new material with various musicians from the greater Portland Maine area for our next release tentatively titled ‘Passenger’. We plan to release it early 2018.
