Chevelle have this vibe, man. It’s a near-unstoppable vibe. Let me explain. These dudes have been making powerful alternative rock music for a long time now (mid-nineties), and they show no signs of stopping – they might actually be on the verge of achieving the global success that many feel they so richly deserve.

They’ve outlasted, and overtaken many popular modern rock bands in terms of worldwide impact (see Godsmack, Sevendust and Filter). They’ve got the power, man, and it feel safe in their hands. With Chevelle it’s just a balls-out, really bloomin’ passionate rock show (with some pretty rubbish samples in-between songs, to be fair – nobody wants to hear Chris Crocker‘s spiel anymore, lads), some banter and loads of fist-pumping. Feel-good motivational power pieces like ‘Send The Pain Below’, ‘Face To The Floor’, and ‘Jars’ really hit the spot, and the capacity crowd really get involved and sing the lyrics back to the band.
hYou can tell that there’s a really cool emotional connection (pretty sure some people [guys and gals] are close to tears at some points here] between the musicians on stage, and their fans, and for us at least, that’s kind of rare to see these days. It’ll be a crime if Chevelle don’t finally get their dues over here in the UK, as the anthemic sound translates so easily across various age brackets and tastes; there’s something for every type of rock fan here, and we really mean that.
