In our next artist spotlight, we chat to Catherine Martindale of Poeticat about the band’s music and inspirations.
S] What are Poeticat’s greatest non-musical inspirations?
C] “Columbia, BMX riding, reading books & poetry, chi kung, hanging out with children, socialism, Spanish and Portuguese languages, cooking and fighting with each other.”
S] What are your plans for 2014?
C] “More releases, more videos, more touring! We have an EP called ‘Smash The Walls’ out in April and our last residency on February 28 at The Windmill where we’re producing a mini cinema in the shed to show the music video for our single ‘Third Arm’ with popcorn and blankets and stuff.”

S] What about the highlights of the Poeticat career so far?
C] “Playing The Lambeth Country Fair to over 5000 people.”
S] Talk us through the inspiration behind a track like ‘Rooftops’?
C] “I have a nasty habit of falling in love with wankers, and the more like wankers they behave, the more I like them! So ‘Rooftops’ is saying a big f*** you to all those wankers.”
