The organisers say: Come one and come all to a very special alternative Christmas market, taking place at The York Medical Society, which is situated down a little alleyway, off of one of York’s busiest areas: Stonegate.
Imagine stepping into a grand historic building, its ancient walls echoing with stories of the past. The architecture of The York Medical Society itself is masterful, with grand, high ceilings, ornate decorations, and intricate details that transport visitors back in time. This unique venue adds a magical charm to the festive atmosphere, which we will aim to generate in three very different ways, across the three rooms of independent traders.
As with our previous events, this market is MULTI-SENSORY…
SIGHT: The market will contain fairy lights, vibrant decorations, and custom made videos. Each room is thoughtfully designed, to create a visual experience, which captures the spirit of Christmas, but with a dark twist!
SOUND: Haunting carols, landscape ambiance and mangled, twisted versions of festive classics will find their way to your ears, over the hubbub of the market environment.
SMELL: Intoxicating festive aromas will waft through the market, with each room having it’s own dedicated scent profile.
TASTE: The usual pop-up café will not operate, but there will be some home baked, vegan and gluten free festive treats for you to sample!
