Back home in Indonesia, Elephant Kind are big enough to fill arenas and play shows with the likes of Franz Ferdinand and The xx but Elephant Kind challenged themselves to find a broader international audience. The band started again in London as complete unknowns and almost two years later, they’re firmly rising which continues with today’s release of their new single ‘Louder’.

‘Louder’ is a defining moment for Elephant Kind. Its shimmering alt-pop is rich with luminous synths and a flood of indie exuberance, with the distinctive soulful expression of Bam Mastro’s vocals.

Bam says :

“The chorus of ‘Louder’ might make it seem like a part anthem at first glance, but is actually an intimate experience of observing separation from the sidelines and complexities of being caught in the crossfire of separation. We’re ecstatic to announce our latest track, marking our return after a year and a half since our last EP.”

Since relocating to London in 2022,  the band have made the most of any opportunity they could find to replicate their success, half a world away from home. They documented their first year in the UK with the short film ‘From Indo To England’, an inspirational story which captured the imaginations of supporters including NME, Clash and Dork. Since then, they completed their debut sold-out UK headline tour late last year before recently returning to action with a big reaction at a recent Sofar Sounds show.
